Velvety, as the name of the lipsticks say. These are also matte lipsticks but their finish is more of a dusty matte finish. Now I’ll talk about the Velvet Matte Lipsticks.

It goes so well with my skin tone, I love it so much. This is one of my favourite shades because you can use it as an everyday lipstick or wear it as a nude when your eye makeup is heavy and it looks stunning. Whipped Caviar (MLS15) is a dusty rose pinky nude. In the picture it doesn’t show up as blue undertone as it is, I don’t know why it seems orangey, but it definitely is a blue undertoned red. This colour is what you think of when you think about a classic red lipstick. It’s very pigmented and it’s one of those reds that will make your teeth appear whiter due to the blue undertones. Perfect Red (MLS10) is a bright red with blue undertones. I haven’t lined my lips in the lip swatches just so you can see how they behave on their own. I would recommend you to line your lips before wearing them, specially the darker shades because they are conventional lipsticks and you won’t get the smoothest edges without lining your lips first, also you’ll make them stay put for a longer time. They retail for $6 or 7,90€ and they contain 4,5g / 0.16 oz.

They don’t move as much as other lipsticks I’ve tried but they are definitely not transfer-proof. Their lasting power is not very impressive, they will last you for a long time if you don’t kiss, drink or eat, but if you plan to wear them to a family dinner or for a night out, just bring the tube of lipstick with you because they will fade.Īlso, they are not transfer-proof, if you kiss or take a nap while wearing these just be aware that you’re going to end up with lipstick all over your face. This smell is stronger in some shades and unnoticeable in others. The smell is a weird one tho, they smell a little bit plasticky and chemichal, but fortunately the smell is not strong at all and it vanishes once the lipstick is on your lips. They are smooth, creamy and very pigmented. The texture of these is like the texture of a conventional tube lipstick. I’ve got two matte lipstics from Nyx: Perfect Red and Whipped Caviar. I’ll talk about the Matte Lipsticks first. Here you can see a hand swatch of all of the lipsticks I’ve tried in natural lightning. I managed to get the last drops of it out to do a hand swatch but there was not enough product left to swatch it on my lips. The only lipstick I don’t have a swatch of is the liquid lingerie because I’ve actually used it so so much that’s now empty.

I’ve had these for a while now and I’ve had the time to test them in almost any situation, so I can tell you how they behave, their lasting power and all that jazz. Now, today I bring you a review and some swatches of some of my Nyx Cosmetics lipsticks. I feel so accomplished ‘cause I’ve been posting now for three days straight *yay* I really enjoy doing this and I feel really passionate about it. Today I woke up feeling productive and excited.
